Description

This Cell Theory webquest teaches students about cells, cell theory, cell size, cell scale, and the history of cell discovery leading up to the formation of the cell theory. This resource makes a great introduction, review, absent student work, sub-plan, guided practice, or student-led teaching tool. Students will independently complete online tasks to learn and engage with cells and the cell theory.

Your students will be introduced to cells and cell theory through an education article. Then students will learn about significance of the cell surface area to volume ratio by watching a video and completing a simulation virtual lab. Students will then read a short article outlining the discovery of cells and what all cells have in common and watch the fun and engaging Wacky History of the Cell Theory video by Ted Ed. Students will lead their own learning as they complete this editable, printable, and digital webquest. All non-flash modern resources are used – works beautifully on PC, Mac, iPads, Tablets, and most modern cellular devices.
